Overview

The Enterprise Architect is responsible for providing specific systems consulting, systems analysis, and overall leadership related to the acquisition and use of complex Clinical and Business applications. Applies in depth professional knowledge to ensure effective and optimal use of current systems, incorporation of refinements in applications based on organization changes or process improvements, and collaborates with application specialists, technical engineers, and department leaders to identify and select new system solutions. Manages portions of large or entire small projects and is accountable for the success of assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Maintains the expertise and competence in the proper operation and optimal use of systems.
  2. Identifies and recommends new and improved uses of computer applications to enhance current processes, achieve cost advantage, improve customer service, and ensure security safeguards are in place.
  3. Ensures that all systems and applications are compatible and consistent with organization's information systems infrastructure and in compliance with established architectural and technical safeguards.
  4. Provides technical support and system administration for complex modules, in order to ensure overall data integrity and performance. Functions include designing/building specific pathways, system configurations, and building and management of tables within systems.
  5. Participates in the design, development, and management of systems, including the integration of systems and equipment, collaborating with department leaders in understanding user requirements.
  6. Collaborates with application owners in the integration of products and systems, providing recommendations on workflow improvements.
  7. Project Manages or participates in various projects, including new application/system selection, implementation, benefits realization, and re-engineering processes.
  8. Provide analysis, develop technical plans and perform application and module upgrades to ensure organization stays compliant with vendor support guidelines.
  9. Performs research and analysis, prepares assigned project deliverables, and detailed specifications from which vendor systems will be programmed/configured, and provides process and workflow analysis.
  10. Develops and maintains expertise and competence in determining or analyzing needs for automated systems and aids in system selection
  11. Supports the overall business/project plan by providing deliverables as a team member to meet project/team performance and outcomes relative to established project goals/measurements.
  12. Maintains an awareness of the healthcare information systems industry contemporary and emerging technologies, and relevant laws and regulations.
  13. Communicate and advise users, management, physicians, vendors, and business partners concerning the purpose, features, functions, and proper use of new and existing systems.
  14. Communicate with stakeholders and conducting interviews as necessary to understand current practices and determine possible areas for improvement.
  15. Participates in the education and training of staff related to business, information systems, systems analysis, and project management through on-the-job instruction and formal training programs.
  16. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
  17. Participates in hospital committees and workgroups as assigned.
  18. Abides by AHMC Code of Conduct and HIPAA compliance.
  19. Performs additional duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a systems analyst or equivalent business experience
  • Experience analyzing, documenting, and optimizing business process flows
  • Ability to validate data, assess data quality and implement solutions to improve processes
  • Strong communication, organization, and project management skills are necessary for this position
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with all levels of internal and external personnel
  • Ability to organize multiple job tasks and work independently
  • Demonstrate flexibility in rapidly changing environments
  • Able to work under stressful situations
  • Strong problem solving skills with well-organized and structured work habits
  • General knowledge of business systems, PCs, collaborative computing tools, information management, general information architectures, systems integration, information security, laws, and regulations
  • Working knowledge of industry coding (CPT, ICD10, LOINC Code, etc.) preferred
  • Experience managing healthcare-related projects and familiarity with healthcare industry preferred
  • Working knowledge of SQL preferred.

 

 EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSE

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Healthcare Informatics or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Graduate degree in area of specialty preferred.
  • School equivalent if it meets all requirements.

 

Hospital Description

AHMC provides management services to AHMC Anaheim Regional Medical Center, Garfield Medical Center, Greater El Monte Community Hospital, Monterey Park Hospital, San Gabriel Valley Medical Center, AHMC Seton Medical Center, AHMC Seton Medical Center Coastside, Doctors Hospital of Riverside, and Whittier Hospital Medical Center. The facilities are Medicare and Medi-Cal certified and accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.  The hospitals provide healthcare services reimbursed by Medicare, Medi-Cal, traditional insurance plans, PPO, HMO and under capitated arrangements.
