Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Server Analyst, under the supervision of the Director of Information Technology is responsible for providing a wide range of technical services including, but not limited to, relatively complex arrays of hardware, operating systems, applications software, etc., that form the foundation of servers and their toolsets used. This position requires the ability to implement and monitor all activities that relate to the organization’s server environment. Oversees or resolves systems implementation and integration issues.  Provide back up as needed to the Server Administrator. The Server Analyst stays abreast of information technology developments, provides opinions on emerging technologies, and aids in practically adopting technology and incorporating it into existing systems and procedures.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Maintains confidentiality at all times and complies with HIPAA and security compliance guidelines at all times.
  • Participates in the research, recommend, deploy and maintain IT server solutions.
  • Helps to monitor and maintain all server documentation.
  • Provide analysis and use available tools to provide status reports to Server Administrator.
  • Responsible for managing backup and restore processes, including backup validation.
  • Take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issues.
  • Perform testing of new operating system software and anti-virus protection software prior to implementation.
  • Allocate complex calls to appropriate IT Support member and/or partners.
  • Assist Server Administrator to resolve escalated customer and vendor issues.
  • Provide backup support to Server Administrator.
  • Support vendor applications systems in server environment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and projects with minimal supervision.
  • Participates in the analysis of Information Technology options to meet research and educational needs as it relates to server technology.
  • Maintain a high level of employee morale within the team.
  • Maintain and enhance cooperative interdepartmental and vendor relationships and communications.
  • Attends and participates in meetings, committees, and training sessions as directed by Director of Information Technology.
  • Assist with disaster recovery planning and testing, including backups and restores.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and second tier on call.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

  • Must have the ability to speak, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Installation and ongoing maintenance of Microsoft-based networks, including:
  • Assist with Server Migrations and Upgrades
  • Back-up and Disaster Recovery
  • Windows Active Directory
  • DNS, DHCP, GPO
  • Exchange 2010/2016 (or the most current version)
  • Exchange support and disaster recovery
  • Exchange migration experience
  • Windows OS
  • Linux OS
  • Office Suite
  • Strong active directory, group policy, and exchange skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft server applications
  • VMware Sphere
  • Experience with SAN and virtualization.
  • Cloud and / or hosted solutions experience.
  • Keep up to date on the latest technologies and certificates.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.

 

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSE

  • Advanced degree or equivalent in Information Discipline, MCSE, or related IT Experience.

 

Hospital Description

AHMC provides management services to AHMC Anaheim Regional Medical Center with 223 beds, Garfield Medical Center with 211 beds, Greater El Monte Community Hospital with 115 beds, Monterey Park Hospital with 102 beds, San Gabriel Valley Medical Center with 273 beds, and Whittier Hospital Medical Center with 172 beds. The facilities are Medicare and Medi-Cal certified and accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.  The hospitals provide healthcare services reimbursed by Medicare, Medi-Cal, traditional insurance plans, PPO, HMO and under capitated arrangements.
