Postpartum nurses are responsible for providing care to women who have recently given birth either Vaginal or via Caesarean Section. The Nurses are involved in helping new mothers learn how to breastfeed their babies, assisting with maternal hygiene post-delivery, caesarian section recovery, assisting with all newborn tasks. Postpartum nurses must be able to multitask. They also need strong skills so that they can communicate clearly with both patients and medical professionals.
Postpartum nurses have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing certificate. Active licensure in the state of California as a Registered Nurse (RN) required. Proficient in oral and written communication skills. Ability to practice leadership, interpersonal skills, communication skills, teamwork, quality improvement and professionalism. Current BCLS and NRP.
Optional: ACLS, STABLE, PALS. 1 year acute experience.
