Whittier Hospital is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to work at the Alhambra Corporate Office.  The AP clerk process invoices and check requests, secures proper approvals, match invoices to POs,  reconcile vendor statements,  assist vendors and department directors, responsible for month-end accruals, maintain nurse registry log, complete annual 1099s and other tasks as assigned.


  • Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payments
  • Matches invoices with POs and works with Purchasing department as needed
  • Process high volume invoices for weekly check run
  • Matches checks with paid invoices and all required supporting documents. 
  • Keeps AP files organized and current
  • Reconciles vendor statements and follows-up in a timely manner
  • Handles month-end AP accrual
  • Handles inquiries from vendors and hospital staff
  • Assists in processing year-end 1099 forms
  • Maintains confidentiality of hospital financial records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • High School Diploma required
  • Associates Degree in accounting or equivalent preferred
  • 1-2 years accounting/ accounts payable experience preferred
  • Microsoft Office, Word and Excel skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
