The NICU Respiratory Care Practitioner (“NICU RCP”) is responsible for providing safe, quality respiratory patient care and teaching to patients and families. Additional responsibilities include collaboration with the health care team, participation in on-going feedback regarding performance improvement, implementation of clinical pathway/plan of care to guide patient care delivery.
The NICU RCP must demonstrate proficiency in the neonatal intensive care area and provide respiratory therapy to neonates as ordered by physicians, according to established standards and practices.
Graduate of an AMA accredited School for Respiratory Therapy or equivalent.
Minimum of one year acute care experience in Respiratory Services or respiratory related care with demonstrated experience in NICU respiratory therapy preferred.
Current CA RCP license
Current Healthcare Provider BLS
Current ACLS
Current NRP
Current PALS, within thirty (30) days of hire
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred
