Performs radiographic procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab and special procedures suite to produce contrast enhanced radiographs of the heart, cardiovascular system and all vascular catheterizations to assist the physician (radiologist or cardiologist) in diagnosis and intervention. The Special Procedures Tech will assist in patient care and preparation of patients scheduled for diagnostic or interventional procedures both in the cardiac cath lab and in the special procedures suite.The Special Procedures Tech will demonstrate heightened knowledge, ability and experience, with all technical and clerical duties under the direction of the department supervisor, lead technician /circulating nurse and department policy. The Special Procedures Tech will be exceptional in skill, knowledge and composure during emergent situations. The Special Procedures Tech III will serve as a role model for other technical staff secondary to the experience and ability of this position. Special Procedures Tech will be exceptional in team dynamics. Special Procedures Tech will always demonstrate willingness to learn and develop expertise in new techniques and procedures within the service. Services are delivered to the patient population ranging from the adult through geriatric.
Graduate of an AMA accredited radiologic technology program
Minimum one year acute care experience or equivalent
Licenses/Certifications
Current CRT license in the State of California
Current AART license preferred
Fluoroscopy license in California within 30 days of hire
Current BLS-HCP
IABP certification within six months of hire
ACLS within 90 days of hire (if novice to position ACLS will be completed within 6 months of start date or the end of orientation; whichever comes first).
