Overview

Provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and family about various health conditions, and provide advice
and emotional support to patients and their families. The Admission/Discharge nurse will work proactively across all
clinical services to ensure all plans and arrangements are in place for the patients; admission and discharges. The A/D
nurse assists with admission and discharge paperwork to support hospital throughput. The A/D nurse will respond to
requests for admissions/discharge assistance in departments throughout the hospital. The A/D nurse may be asked to
assist staff nurses with patient procedures such as phlebotomy, initiating or discontinuation of IV’s relative to the
admission/discharge process.
This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of AHMC Anaheim Regional
Medical Center. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the core values of AHMC

Medical Center’s strategic plan and goals and direction of the performance improvement plan. The employee will also

Confidentiality of Information, Environment of Care and other initiatives.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
Graduate of RN School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
One year acute care experience preferred.
Must have excellent interviewing and physical assessment skills.
Must be able to communicate effectively with others both written and verbal
Must be computer literate
Must have good customer service skills
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Current CA RN license
Current BLS
Current ACLS
