The Charge Nurse serves as a clinical resource to staff, assigns daily patient care assignments and unit specific duties, prepares monthly work schedules, schedules breaks and meal periods for each shift. Precepts, mentors, orients new hires and registry staff, coordinates shift schedules based on competency of staff and patient acuity, controls staffing, supervises and evaluates performance of staff, delegates and completes weekly unit supply order, communicates effectively with physicians, resolves patient, family or physician orders, coordinates in-services, identifies complex patient problems that include changes in patient’s psychological and physiological condition. This position reports to the MCH Director.
BSN preferred. 1-2 years recent experience in an OB setting. Management experience preferred. Current CA RN license, BLS, ACLS and NRP required. STABLE certification within 12 months of hire. Proficiency in both written and oral English.
