This position is responsible for all material resources management activities, i.e., demand/utilization management, order management, supplier management, logistics management, and inventory/ assets management for AHMC- Anaheim Regional Medical Center.
Coordinates and is responsible for the daily operation of the Purchasing/ Receiving departments and the Printing and Mailroom activities. The Manager of Material Services supervises Purchasing and Receiving staff (3 ARMC FTE’s) and Printing/ Mail Services staff (1). Ensures procurement of capital purchases and various supplies and services requested by the Medical Center according to policy. Actively seeks to obtain most favorable contract pricing with suppliers consistent with quality, quantity, service and delivery time and routinely verifies contract compliance. Interfaces with managers/supervisors/employees regarding their procurement, invoice, repair, storage and courier needs.
Requires a BA degree in business administration, economics or closely related field is desired. A high school graduate with extensive experience may be accepted in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.
Requires three to four years experience in a medical and/or pharmaceutical purchasing environment with heavy emphasis on analyzing price and cost on a large assortment of products and services.
Requires a thorough understanding of purchasing methods and procedures, techniques of specification and contract writing and the knowledge of purchasing laws.
Database and spreadsheet knowledge is essential.
