  • Overview

    Assists with Administration of the day to day operation of the following departments:

    1. Operating Room
    2. Pre-admit Testing
    3. Ambulatory Surgery
    4. Sterile Processing Department (SPD)
    5. Endoscopy Department
    6. Post-Anesthesia Care Unit   '

    Provides nursing care and role models professional nursing practice in accordance with Parkview Community Hospital standards and standards of The Joint Commission.Maintains 24-hour a day line management and responsibility in administration of personnel, fiscal, and material resources.Creatively responds to changes in the work setting.Participates in program planning for new projects while maximizing the throughput of the operating rooms and Pre & Post Op areas.Knowledgeable in clinical areas of supervision, using defined processes to establish goals and outcomes, which reflect systems integrations in todays dynamic health care environment.



    Responsible for keeping current in knowledge and liabilities essential to the role. Accountable to the Director of Peri-Operative Services for overall work performance.

    • Implements and monitors compliance to patient care and professional standards established by the department of nursing, state law and regulatory agencies.
    • Follows:
      • Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN) Guidelines
      • Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) recommended practices standards in collaboration with nursing staff, surgeons, and other appropriate resources and monitor’s compliance.
      • Assigns the nursing care of each patient to personnel in accordance with the patient’s needs and the specialized qualifications and competence of the nursing staff available.
    • Evaluates the nursing care delivery system utilizing a variety of techniques such as:
    1. Consultation with patient and health care providers.
    2. Efficient use of resources.
    3. Ensures Patient Satisfaction
    4. Enforces regulatory standards in areas of supervision and implements in-service programs to support and comply with these standards.


    Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or Bachelor Degree in Nursing or field related to Healthcare. Two (2) years previous experience in specified field of nursing. Two (2) years previous progressive managerial experience. Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) Certification preferred. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS). Computer Skills. Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California and Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS-HCP) required.
