Under the direction of the Director, the Medical Staff Supervisor, manages the Medical Staff‘s daily operations, and is the primary resource for handling physician and/or administration requests and/or issues. This position will also assume the responsibility of facilitating the Medical Executive Committee meeting, including the production of minutes and Board reports as needed.
This position shall provide support to Medical Staff meetings as assigned by the Director, to include but not be limited to preparing accurate agendas, taking and transcribing meeting minutes, completing follow up in a timely manner, maintaining meeting attendance, providing administrative support to medical staff officers, department and committee chairs, initiate and formulate annual review of department R&R’s and privilege delineation forms, scheduling monthly MS meetings, prepare calendar and distribute, prepare and distribute monthly ER On-Call rosters, assist in achieving the department’s goal to maintain compliance with Joint Commission standards, Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and , Title 22 regulations and other regulatory agencies as appropriate, provide assistance in the performance improvement activities of the Medical Staff, assist Director in identifying opportunities for improvement and act as a facilitator in implementing such improvements, provides oversight to the Medical Staff department and the coordination of staff to facilitate department operations and other duties/special projects as assigned by the Director.
High School graduate required, AA or AS preferred
Basic typing and computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and MicroMed
Minimum of 5 years experience as an Assistant Medical Staff Coordinator or Medical Staff Coordinator.
Knowledge of Joint Commission and CMA standards, Title 22 regulations, and medical staff case law as pertinent to assisting in the operations of Medical Staff Services
Knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and pertinent Medical Staff policies and procedures
Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) required
