Monterey Park Hospital, located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, is recruiting for a Food Service Worker for our Dietary Department. This is a full time, 8-hour position, day shifts. Monterey Park Hospital is a 101 bed acute care community hospital. Monterey Park Hospital has provided our community with advanced medical and culturally sensitive healthcare services for over 40 years. This position reports to the Director of Dietary.
The Food Service Worker must be familiar with kitchen equipment, machines and tools. He / she must show a willingness and ability to perform additional duties and responsibilities in different areas in the department such as office assistant/ food preparation/ special functions. The Food Service Worker will be responsible for maintaining high levels of sanitation, preparing meals for patients following established procedures, observes FIFO systems and ensures all food is covered, labeled, and dated. The individual in this position must understand, anticipate and meet the needs, expectations and satisfaction levels of patients, customers, and medical staff.
Minimum Education: Grade school education preferred. Speak, read, and write English.
Minimum Experience: Ability to use decimals and fractions, operate cash register, make change and interpret price list.
Required Certification/Registration: Food Handler Certification within 30 days upon hire
