This position is a first line management position.  The incumbent has 12-hour responsibility for the coordination of care for patients and families.  In conjunction with the area’s Operations Manager or Director, the incumbent shall plan, organize, direct, and evaluate people and activities for the department to ensure the delivery of high quality, cost-effective patient care.  In conjunction with the area’s Operations Manager or Director, the incumbent has fiscal responsibility for resources that are defined during the budget process.  The position is accountable for scheduling, coordinating, and maintaining the resources necessary on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.   This position’s primary focus is with employees, patients, families, physicians and the key contributors from other departments who impact the services of the department.  The success of the department depends significantly on the incumbent’s ability to participate well with others and/or collaborate with other managers within the Division of Nursing and the Medical Center.   The employee is expected to support and implement organizational expectations including but not limited to: customer service, patient rights, confidentiality of information, safe environment of care and AHMC initiatives.

Properly performs venipuncture on inpatients and outpatients. Properly disposes of all contaminated needles immediately upon completion of phlebotomy procedures. Assists in orientation of new personnel as requested.

The Surgical First Assist is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for patients having a procedure performed in the Operating Room.  The Surgical First Assist has advanced training in this area and provides care utilizing standard process, therapeutic environment, treatment and diagnostic processes, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Patient Access Representative demonstrates the ability to accurately input demographic and insurance information for patients admitted to the Hospital, Emergency Department and Outpatient Departments. Acknowledge consumers promptly and in a courteous manor, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service to all we serve. 

The Denials Manager appeals all denials using InterQual criteria.  Evaluates, tracks and trends denials and implements denial prevention programs.  Works closely with Case Managers, Physicians and multidisciplinary team to ensure compliance with documentation and educates as needed. The Staff Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients and their families in compliance with the standards for care at Seton Medical Center, AHMC and Nurse Practice Act. The Medical telemetry nursing involves the use of specialized equipment to monitor patients' vital signs remotely, often for those with cardiac conditions or other medical issues requiring continuous monitoring.  The Med Tele Nurse will also cover the needs of a Acute Care- Med Surge patient.

Performs tasks of activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, other miscellaneous personal hygiene, eating, daily weights etc.). - Intervenes and de-escalates patient physical confrontations or abusive verbal behavior using de-escalation techniques. - Assists registered nurse in administering treatment and other nursing tasks as needed; promptly answers call lights promptly and administers to patient comfort and safety by adjusting beds, lights, bed rails, pillows, patients' clothing and bedside tables/equipment; observes and reports any deviation in patients' condition/status; keeps patient areas clean, safe and orderly. - Conducts safety rounds/checks; confiscates unauthorized items; reports incidents. - Able to understand and follow all policies, procedures, guidelines, rules and regulations of Nursing Service, and Seton Medical Center. - Knowledge of legal terminologies and practices associated with psychiatry. - Participates in promoting a healthful, safe, and therapeutic environment for patient and families; set-up the environment essential for infection prevention practices. - Participates in the implementation of patient care standards, infection control standards and quality assurance criteria. - Completes shift report at bedside with the patient involved to the best of their ability. - Participates in every shift huddle report to communicate any red flags and ensure efficient patient hand-off. - Clean and organize work stations, aware and practice safety protocols of the department at all times. - AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, and Thank you) will be used in patient and family interactions when appropriate. - Actively engages with all department and hospital improvement projects. - Demonstrates knowledge of management od assaultive behavior techniques - Participates in the orientation of new employees - Performs other duties as Assigned         OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS YES NO Driving cars, trucks, forklifts, and other equipment?   X Working around equipment and machinery?   X Walking on uneven ground?
