The Case Manager Registered Nurse is primarily responsible for the preparation, recording and tracking of initial and retrospective payments for hospital services. Answers, directs and records departmental phone calls from a variety of sources (Insurance companies, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Home Health Agencies, Durable Medical Equipment, other health care providers, etc.) understanding priorities for the delivery of quality patient care. Coordinates with Discharge Planners for continuum of patient care, for example, durable medical equipment (DME) and Levels of Care.

Basic knowledge of landscape maintenance.  Performs general landscape maintenance, and assists in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of hospital in good repair. Minor plumbing work, mechanical repairs and other duties relating to maintenance are the primary duties. Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the Engineering Department. Maintains routine records of all inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system.

Performs CT imaging scans on patients and coordinates patient flow and the activities of the scanner.

Under the direction of the Coding Supervisor, codes and abstracts inpatient and outpatient hospital medical records under one coding systems, ICD-10-CM, which is used for hospital reimbursement, statistical purposes, and reporting purposes required by different state regulatory agencies.

The CNS shall be responsible for: Directing the clinical nursing practice in the NICU & Pediatric Unit.   Coordination and assessment of educational development and clinical competency of the nursing staff in the NICU; and for ensuring continued neonatal critical care nursing competency through educational programs for both the newly-hired and experienced nursing staff. Consultation with staff on complex neonatal critical care nursing issues. Oversight of comprehensive parent and or primary caretaker education activities. NICU Manager shall directly supervise personnel and assure the quality of clinical nursing care of patients in the NICU at all times. The hours of work are flexible based upon the need of the hospital.
