Overview

The Registered Nurse provides direct care in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab Department setting. Communicates with physicians / Nurse Director / Co – workers, as appropriate about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care based on established clinical nursing care for patients the medical surgical services based on established clinical nursing practice standards. 

Responsibilities

Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Serves as the Resource nurse role when oriented and as directed. Supports the organization vision and mission. Utilizes knowledge of patient's age, developmental status, spiritual and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care. Will be required to rotate on call schedule.

Qualifications

Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of California. Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Previous experience or training in a Cardiovascular Lab; Preferred. More than 2 years experience in Critical Care, Operating Room, or Procedural area, may be considered. Proficient in oral and written communication skills. Ability to practice leadership, interpersonal skills, communication skills, teamwork, quality improvement and professionalism. BCLS, ACLS, Basic Dysrhythmia Certificate upon hire and maintain current. NIHSS obtain within 6 months of hire. Previous Acute Care hospital experience required.
