Able to work in all basic functions of a CLS in the main lab, blood bank and microbiology. Performs quality control procedures for routine and stat testing of patient samples. Maintains records; performs and records instrument maintenance; troubleshooting instrument and sample problems; regularly utilizes the lab computer for various aspects of daily work; verifies completion of work using the computer. Able to work independently in a generalist capacity while adhering to standard lab practices.

Acute hospital experience required. Minimum two years experience in a hospital setting as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist required. Able to maintain customer services standards. Must be able to work variable days as needed and weekend shifts. Most of the shifts needed are every other weekend PM shift with some coverage on AM and/or Night shift. | CA licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist; American Society of Clinical Pathologists Certification (ASCP) preferred. College graduate. Two years acute hospital experience. |
