Overview

Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology, and in collaboration with leadership, employees, and Information Systems, the Clinical Informatics Manager is responsible for conducting training programs and developing educational materials to ensure providers and healthcare professionals have the knowledge and skills to use the technology effectively. Responsible for mentoring and guiding staff members in effectively performing their job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Application Analysts and Business Analysts employees. Conduct yearly reviews with the ability to hire and dismiss employees as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison between project team members and healthcare providers, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Develop and deliver training programs tailored to healthcare providers on the Electronic Health Record system.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive training materials and processes for ongoing education and skill development.
  • Demonstrate a proactive work ethic and timely response to challenges in a dynamic environment.
  • Utilize effective communication techniques with all stakeholders, including employees, vendors, consultants, leadership, and physicians, to promote electronic documentation systems and processes aligned with quality patient care.
  • Promote a positive attitude and cooperative relationships across departmental lines, contributing to overall customer satisfaction.
  • Exhibit sound interpersonal skills in all interactions, emphasizing a commitment to customer service and excellence.
  • Demonstrate accountability, responsibility for actions, and commitment to quality work.
  • Facilitate collaboration among team members, utilizing conflict resolution and proper chain of command as needed.
  • Participate in departmental and hospital improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide tier two and tier three support and resources for healthcare providers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the organization.
  • Conducts end-user training on various clinical applications utilized throughout the hospital, aligning training material and project plans with Information Technology to fulfill training requirements. Ensures all training materials are prepared in advance of classroom sessions.
  • Assumes responsibility for curriculum design, including training materials, classroom exercises, and assessments/testing, and learning modules to enhance providers' comprehension of the EHR system.
  • Utilizes diverse communication techniques to raise awareness of the EHR system among hospital stakeholders, fostering a comprehensive understanding.
  • Adapts and enhances existing materials to align with evolving hospital needs and audience expectations, continuously improving and supporting system upgrades essential for hospital operations.
  • Acts as a liaison between Clinical Informatics and Information Technology to guarantee the fulfillment of training requirements.
  • Develops operational workflows using industry best practices acquired through training to ensure seamless alignment with operating procedures.
  • Participates in business and clinical operations meetings to assess end-user feedback, enabling the update of future training curricula and the recommendation of system optimizations and operational enhancements.
  • Assists in communicating important updates to designated groups, including new workflows, system availability, and potential downtime, ensuring all stakeholders are informed.
  • Will participate in after-hour on-call rotation support of the Electronic Health Record system.

Qualifications

  • Must have an RN or LVN Board License
  • Minimum five years of relevant Healthcare work experience
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records or Electronic Health Record systems.
  • Experience using presentation software, word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Flexible scheduling to support needs for unplanned downtime and project implementation
