The Data Analyst shall assist with the coordination of the functions involved in Quality Assurance, Risk Management, Patient Safety and Infection Control. Duties include database management, coordination of special projects and reports for the Director of Quality and Risk Management. The position supports analytics and data management across multiple clinical services and systems to create actionable data output through various software solutions. This position requires advanced technical knowledge of database applications; data visualization software, SQL Management Studio, Excel (macros, templates, and pivot tables), and other techniques for automating tasks and productivity. Also provides technical and administrative assistance to the Quality Review and Infection Control nurses and Risk Manager as needed.
• Provide computer support in creating graphs for various Performance Improvement projects.
• Pull data reports from various databases such as Premier Connect, Press Ganey, AHA Survey, Quality Net, NHSN-SAMS, ARCIS, 3M, OSHPD-CCORP, NCDR,Q-Centrix, RmPro and the metrics utilized by these systems.
• Perform data uploads, data validation, run reports and provide data maintenance for STS, ICD and CathPCI databases.
• Coordinate and pull data for physician peer review and ongoing physician performance evaluations (OPPE).
• Coordinate annual hospital surveys such as AHA and Leapfrog.
• Provide computer support to Quality & Risk Management Director as needed.
• Coordinate the collection of the Core Measures Data to Premier.
• Bachelor's Degree or Higher in health or analytics-related field (informatics, epidemiology, economics, statistics, or other field emphasizing analytics).
• 2 years of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel (pivot tables, graphs, formulas), Access, PowerPoint.
• One or more years of experience with statistical analysis software.
• One or more years of experience with T-SQL (Microsoft SQL Server) in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Demonstrable technical experience with query software for accessing and retrieving data from a TSQL database, and spreadsheet tools for creating, analyzing and managing large data stores. Comprehends complexities of data architecture.
• Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Knowledge of macros, pivot tables, query design, and other techniques for automating tasks and increasing productivity.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also as a strong team member.
• Ability to prioritize, plan work and function in a fast-paced, multi-project environment and under deadline pressure to multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to work with a large variety of computer programs and databases
• Desire to make an impact in health care with a thirst for complex challenges.
• Knowledge of SPC Graphs and Data Interpretation
• Knowledge of medical/clinical terminology preferred but not mandatory.
