JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a compassionate, diligent Social Worker with excellent communication, relationship building and problem-solving skills. As a Social Worker, you will provide essential services to help patients and families cope with psychological and social challenges related to illness and hospitalization. The Social Worker is responsible for the development, planning, implementation of all social service-related interventions and treatment plans.   This position will be assigned to the Maternal Child Health Department and Emergency Room and may float to any departments within the hospital as needed. 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Knowledge of Maternal Child Health Department including nursery, NICU, California Children’s Services standards and guidelines.
2. Knowledge of community resources for high- risk patients, such as  substance abuse, persons experiencing homelessness and those affected by co-occurring disorders.
3. Familiarity with  Child Abuse, Elder and Dependent Adult Abuse, Neglect and Domestic Violence treatment, interventions, and reporting protocols. 
4. Ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams and participate in the discharge planning.
5. Master’s Degree from School of Social Work accredited by the Council of Social Work Education, Or Bachelor’s Degree from School of Social Work with two years experience in Healthcare field.
6. Current BLS certification and maintain current
7. Spanish Bilingual is a plus
