JOB SUMMARY:   Functions as a key team player in Infection Prevention Department. Reviews medical records to identify possible healthcare associated infections, Reports communicable diseases to various health agencies, Conducts surveillance rounds, Provides patient and staff education related to infection prevention activities, data entry and reporting within required deadlines and other responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Licensed Vocational Nursing Degree
2. -Knowledge of and ability to use Excel, Word, web-based programs and Outlook and learn new programs
3. -2 yrs. acute hospital experience
4. -Medical terminology
5. -Ability to work independently with little supervision
6. -Ability to multitask and prioritize
7. -Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively work with a diverse group of individuals.
8. -Ability to assess and analyze data and compile reports with guidance from the ICP. \
9. BCLS card AHA required.
