Overview

Monterey Park Hospital, located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles, is a 101 bed acute care community hospital providing our community with advanced medical and culturally sensitive healthcare services for over 50 years. Monterey Park Hospital is recruiting for a Quality Coordinator (non-clinical) in our Quality Assurance Department.  This position reports to the Director of Quality/Risk Management.

Responsibilities

The Quality Coordinator (non-clinical) assists the Director of Quality/Risk Management by supporting performance improvement (PI) and Risk Management activities by ensuring PI and Patient Safety Plans are updated annually, reviews policy and procedures, provides education to staff through hospital orientation, skills events, department staff meetings and annual reorientation, reviews occurrence reports timely, processes and documents accurately, abstracts quality data for OPPE evaluations, core measures, falls, risk events and clinical quality indicators for statistical reporting, generates monthly and quarterly reports for Quality/Risk Management as required. The Quality Coordinator will assist the Director on litigation and pending claims including preparing materials requested for investigators, corporate claims and attorney requests and scheduling interviews and depositions of hospital employees. The Coordinator will assist the Director with sentinel event evaluations, root cause analysis and corrective action plans.  The Coordinator builds mutual trust and effective working relationships through good communication and interactions with Facility employees, management and our customers, adheres to all Facility policies and procedures and is flexible with additional assignments as needed. 

Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum Experience: Experience working in a hospital preferred. Prior experience in Quality Management, Risk Management, or Accreditation is preferred. Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records and Medical Terminology preferred.
Other: Computer skills, preferably Google based office applications.
