The Special Procedure RN is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the therapeutic environments, treatment and modalities and interdisciplinary collaboration. Identifies and anticipates life threatening arrhythmias, and provides intervention and proper administration of all ACLS medications.
Monitor and recognize complications of special procedures, i.e., angiograms, Bronchoscopy, TEE (transesophageal echocardiogram), other radiological procedures and intervenes appropriately. Communicates appropriate data to the physician and other patient care team members. Collaborates with other discipline to plan and coordinate care.
Current California RN License. Current Basis Life Support certification. ACLS certification. Certifications within 90 days of employment in Blood Glucose & Conscious Sedation. Two years special procedures experience preferred.
