The unit secretary / monitor technician through communication, requisitioning and management of supplies and equipment, coordinates the activities of the nursing staff, the patient, the physician, other hospital departments and visitors. He/she performs general receptionist and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit. Is skilled in reading and interpreting cardiac monitors and arrhythmias.

Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intra-departmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives.
Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
High school graduate or equivalent
EKG Monitor Tech Certificate REQUIRED
BLS required
AB 508 required after 90 days of hire
Medical terminology
General clerical and computer knowledge
Monitor Technician experience in acute setting preferred
