Overview

Monterey Park Hospital, located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles, is a 101 bed acute care community hospital. Monterey Park Hospital has provided our community with advanced medical and culturally sensitive healthcare services for over 50 years. Monterey Park Hospital is recruiting for a Radiology Technologist for our Radiology Department. This position is per diem with variable shifts, mainly weekend coverage. This position reports to the Supervisor of Imaging and Director of Imaging Services.

Responsibilities

The Radiology Technologist will be efficient in producing images of the body for diagnostic purposes under the direct supervision of the staff Radiologist. The Radiology Tech will explain procedures to the patients and position patients on the exam table. The Radiology Tech will select technique parameters in keeping with ALARA. The Radiology Tech will review and evaluate digital images for quality to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes. The Radiology Tech will use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and staff.  The Radiology Tech will also be transporting patients to/from the hospital bed to the Radiology Department throughout the workday and maneuvering and positioning patients for imaging.

Qualifications

Current CA certification from the CDPH as Diagnostic Radiology and Fluoroscopy Technologist required. *New graduates have 90 days from hire date to complete the Fluoroscopy Certification. Completion of an AMA accredited program required and Current BLS issued by AHA required. Candidate’s job skills require excellent written and verbal communication, sensitivity to the physical and psychological needs of patients. Attention to detail and the ability to follow physician's instructions will be important to the success of working in a team atmosphere.
