Provides basic patient care, assists with procedure, performs phlebotomy duties under the CPT1 certificate requirements, transports patients interdepartmentally and maintains equipment and supplies in the Emergency Department. The technician works under the direction of the licensed nurse, physician assistant, or physician.
Accurately obtains and records vital signs and reports abnormal readings to licensed nurse or physician assistant in a timely manner. Anticipates physician/physician assistant needs, sets up equipment in advance, and assists with treatments/procedures, as needed. Appropriately obtains urine specimens.
Certification as an EMT-1 in the State of California Preferred. Current Basic Life Support Level C (Healthcare Provider). Must possess a valid California CPT1 certification. At least Three (3) years experience in an acute care facility and/or pre-hospital care, preferably in emergency care setting.
