Overview

Under direct supervision, the OR Tech supports the department of Surgical Services in the provision of patient care by the coordination of surgical instrumentation and performance of scrub technologist activities.  Responsibilities include providing organizational, communication and assistive skills necessary to facilitate the flow of surgical services activities, ensuring availability and proper maintenance of instrumentation and surgical supplies, adhering to principles of asepsis and policies and procedures, demonstrating knowledge of surgical procedures and providing support to patients, visitors, physicians, staff and ancillary personnel. 

 

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of AHMC- Anaheim Regional Medical Center and AHMC Inc. Qualifications

A minimum of one year related experience in an acute surgical setting preferred.

Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program, military training program or equivalent formal training program required.

Expertise with instrument processing and asepsis.

           Knowledge of sterility standards, AAMI and AORN.

 

Licenses/Certifications              

Current BLS-HCP

            Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
