This position is responsible for implementing an effective facility-wide infection prevention program.
The hospital is a 223 bed acute care facility. The facility is Medicare and MediCal certified and accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations
This position is responsible for implementing an effective facility-wide infection prevention program in keeping with Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Joint Commission, OSHA, Title 22 and other regulatory agencies. Responsible for monitoring, evaluating, planning and coordinating the Infection Prevention and Control program designed to enhance the quality of patient care. Coordinates staff education as it relates to Infection Control and prevention practices including general orientation and inservicing staff.
Degree in Nursing or Epidemiology, or related field
Current CA RN License preferred
Current Certification in Infection Control (CIC)
Minimum three years’ acute care experience
Demonstrated knowledge related to microbiology, epidemiology and infections, public health, diseases, sterilization, sanitation, construction and disinfection practices
Requires in-depth knowledge of patient care practices
Basic computer proficiency
