Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include the planning, development, evaluation and monitoring of programs and services to provide quality care, the development and fostering of collaborative working relationships with peers, physicians, departments and other team members; the recruitment, selection and performance management of staff, the direction of fiscal activities in order to meet budgetary targets, and the ongoing compliance with regulatory standards.

Education/Training/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Biological Science, Microbiology, or Medical Technology
Minimum five years' demonstrated management experience in an acute hospital laboratory setting.
Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) registration preferred.
Experience in all phases of laboratory work.
Knowledge of State and Federal regulatory requirements.
Knowledge of CAP, AABB, JCAHO accreditation requirements.
Proficiency in computer applications.
