JOB SUMMARY: To provide respiratory therapy for neonates who are in need of such in order that their breathing may be brought to a level which may provide sufficient oxygenation and enable the neonate to breathe without the aid of therapy or ventilator support. The neonatal respiratory care practitioner is expected to be able to use sound professional judgment in relaying patient status and needs to the medical staff and the ability to follow through with physician's orders. In addition, the NICU respiratory care practitioner II & III is expected to be able to intubate babies when the necessity arises.
