Monterey Park Hospital, a 101-acute care facility located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, is seeking an Admitting Representative for our Admitting Department. This is a part-time, 8-hour variable shift position reporting to the Admitting Director. The variable shift includes evenings, graveyard & weekends. Days off will vary.

The Admitting Representative is responsible for greeting the patient as they arrive, registering patients into the hospital’s ADT system, verifying and validating all the patient information, including medical insurance, and delivering that information to the different service units. These tasks are performed in a variety of settings such as, ER Department, Outpatient and direct admit transfers. The Admitting Rep will also take PBX rotations as needed.

1. BLS (AHA) & AB508 certifications must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
2. Knowledge of patient registration process. 
3. Knowledge of HMO’s, PPO, Capitation, Medi-Cal, Medicare, Worker’s Comp., HIPAA & EMTALA.
4. Excellent Customer Service skills are necessary, above-average collection skills and Bilingual English/Spanish language skills preferred.
5. High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
6. 2 years experience preferred.
