The Medical Staff Coordinator position has responsibility for coordinating and attending Medical Staff meetings, assisting in completion of Governing Board follow-up, completion of the monthly ER oncall schedule, maintaining current proctoring documentation, and coordinating the Continuing Medical Education Program. Responsible for coordinating and attending Medical Staff meetings as assigned by director.
a) Prepares agenda and meeting materials and discusses with chairmen prior to the meeting.
b) Prepares accurate minutes.
c) Prepares follow-up correspondence and actions within ten working days of the meeting.
d) Channels actions from one committee to another. e) Places food orders, audio visual requests and meeting space reservations in a timely manner.
f) Ensures appropriate documents are presented to the various committees in the required time frames.
Assist Medical Staff Director in completion of Governing Board follow-up.
a) Prepares letters reflecting approved recommendations.
b) Make appropriate changes to Delineation of Privilege Forms, Rules and Regulations as required.
c) Maintain suspension fee invoices and required follow up reporting to Credentials Committee.
Coordinates the Continuing Medical Education Program under the supervision of the CME Chairperson and the Medical Staff Director.
a) Schedules speakers recommended by the CME Committee.
b) Maintains CME budget information.
c) Prepares notices, calendars and forwards Category I Attendance Reports to individual Medical Staff members on an annual basis.
d) Participates in Joint Sponsorship Programs, is familiar with continuing education requirements and is committed to ensuring that the program meets IMQ requirements.
e) Initiates and maintains medical journals and online subscriptions.
Demonstrates working knowledge of office systems and workflow.
a) Prepares and distributes Emergency Call Schedule on a monthly basis.
b) Maintains adequate level of supplies.
c) Distributes monthly Medical Staff calendar.
Maintains current proctoring documentation.
a) Assures Medical Staff members are assigned proctors and uses follow-up system to monitor proctoring.
b) Works with Credentials Coordinator in preparing proctoring completion forms and contacting Chairmen to review.
