POSITION SUMMARY
The Network Engineer is responsible for overseeing the stability and integrity of the organization’s voice, data, video and wireless network services to ensure proper maintenance and security. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. The Network Engineer is the primary contact in planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization. This person will also troubleshoot network performance issues, as well as analyze network traffic and provide capacity-planning solutions. The Network Engineer analyzes and resolves wireless local area networks (WLAN) hardware, software problems in an efficient and collaborative. The Network Engineer is also responsible for the organization’s telecommunications infrastructure, which includes configuring, diagnosing, repairing, upgrading, and optimizing telephone systems and services, voicemail, and VoIP/IP-PBX communication systems, and video conferencing environments, both internally, and those integrated with Internet-based services.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Responsible for planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization
• Manage all routers, switches, and firewalls at AHMC Corporate and AHMC Facilities
• Define, direct, monitor, and participate in the operations of the AHMC Data Center including the following areas:
o LANs/WAN
o Internet/Intranet
o Security
o Disaster Recovery
o Change management
o Patch management
o Asset management
o Others as designated
• Builds net configurations and connections
• Troubleshoots network performance issues, as well as analyze network traffic and provide capacity planning solutions
• Maximizes performance by troubleshooting network problems and outages and scheduling upgrades.
• Configures router.
• Develop, implement, and maintain IT policies, procedures, and processes to support best practices for data center operations and systems administration
• Develop and maintain work plans to implement initiatives and special projects on-time and within budget
• Maintains a documented, up-to-date detailed component map of the organization’s network
• Designs, configures, diagnoses, repairs, upgrades, and optimizes telephone systems and services, voicemail, and VoIP/IP-PBX communication systems, and video conferencing environments
• Attends and participates in meetings, committees, and training sessions as directed by Director of Information Technology
• Disaster recovery planning and testing
• Provide backup support to other technical positions
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and second tier on call
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
• Must have 10 - 15 years of experience in similar position or relevant experience
• Network design and implementation
• Network troubleshooting
• Network hardware configuration
• Network performance tuning
• Specific experience and/or education in LAN/WAN systems, TCP/IP, Fortinet, Palo Alto
• Problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong documentation skills
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must have the ability to speak, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Experience in firewall management
• Experience with Fortinet, VeloCloud, Palo Alto desired
• Experience with BGP and OSPF routing protocols required
• Experience in managing telecommunications services to business desired
• Experience in managing vendor selection and implementation required
• Experience in managing systems administration operations required
• Healthcare experience preferred.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSE
• BA/BS in computer science, information technology, engineering, or equivalent in Information Discipline
• Certifications preferred, CCNA, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+
