Overview

The Medical Records Clerk II performs assigned medical record functions necessary for timely processing of patient information and the patient medical records. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to admission and discharge processing, assembly of medical records, use and maintenance.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Associate degree in health related field or equivalent experience preferred

 

EXPERIENCE:

- One year clerical experience in an acute care hospital

 

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:

- N/A

 

OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE:

- Keyboarding and Computer skills
- Excellent communication and public relation skills
- Customer service and detail oriented
- Knowledge of terminal digit filing system. 

 

- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, hospital employees and management, and physicians.

- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Hospital Description

AHMC Seton Medical Center encompasses two facilities with 377 beds. The flagship hospital is in Daly City and serves the northern San Mateo County and southern San Francisco County residents. The secondary facility is in Moss Beach and serves the coastal communities.
