Overview

The Surgical Services Manager is responsible for the operational oversight, coordination, and support of perioperative services to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care including coordination and management of the outpatient department of Bariatrics.

Responsibilities

The Surgical Services Manager oversees Nursing / Patient concerns for the inpatient and outpatient units. Provides direct and supervised care to established plans. The manager is responsible for staffing, problem solving resources and overall issues pertaining to patient care.  Works with the surgeons, manages the office staff, and integrates all aspects of the pre-op, post-op and support functions of Bariatric care. Focus will be on providing a safe, effective environment for patients and staff through increased communication and customer service.

Qualifications

  1. Current Nursing licensure in the State of California or strong perioperative knowledge and leadership experience, with a background as a Surgical Technologist or related surgical services role.  Bachelors preferred.
  2. At least one year (1) of clinical experience including experience in patient care management.
  3. Current BLS and ACLS.
  4. Skills and knowledge to sustain and evaluate clinical competence in caring for the specific age and type of patient population served.
  5. Basic understanding of management and leadership principles.  
  6. Possess good oral and written communication
  7. Ability to work as a team member and demonstrate customer service attitude.
  8. Demonstrated interpersonal relationships in a manner which enhances communication.
