The OB Clinical Educator implements a comprehensive education program for L&D and Postpartum areas. - The Lactation Consultant will coordinate patient care and educational activities related to lactation. This role encompasses consultation with inpatient clients and health professional in the hospital. The lactation consultant educates the patient in all aspects of prenatal and postnatal lactation care. The lactation consultant is responsible to provide guidance and support to the patient to promote breastfeeding. The lactation consultant is responsible for providing safe, family centered patient care by assessing, planning, and evaluating lactation plans for the mother-infant dyad, as well as for the pumping mother, and is fully collaborative with the patient, family, significant other, and members of the health team.
