Manages individualized, goal directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and Hospital policies and procedures. The Registered Nurse will provide care that includes physical assessment, treatment, reassessment, discharge planning, and health education to the hospitalized patient. The RN is responsible for planning and coordination of care across the continuum. This planning and coordination includes meeting and exceeding compliance with core measures, active participation with all aspects of quality, safety and performance improvement activities, collaboration with all the members of the multidisciplinary team in providing outstanding customer service to patients, family members, physicians and the public. Meets and exceeds the Department of Health Service (DHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), The Joint Commission (TJC) and other regulatory requirements. The Registered Nurse will support the department initiative and provide quality patient care.
The Staff Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients and their families in compliance with the standards for care at AHMC - Seton Medical Center and Nurse Practice Act.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing certificate. Licensure in the state of California as a Registered Nurse (RN). Proficient in oral and written communication skills. Ability to practice leadership, interpersonal skills, communication skills, teamwork, quality improvement and professionalism.
Current California RN license
BCLS, ACLS (AHA) and maintain current.
Preferred Chemotherapy
Proficiency in both written and oral English
Basic Dysrhythmia certificate preferred
1 Year acute experience preferred, NIHSS certification preferred.

Responsible for one department /shift of the laboratory. Directs activity and reporting of test results performed by non-licensed personnel. Is capable of performing all the duties of a Medical Technologist II. Consults personnel for technical errors in the department/shift he/she is responsible for.
