The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room provides safe and effective care of the perioperative patient. The OR RN is responsible for assessing the patient, planning and implementing care specific to each patient's needs. The OR RN coordinates the care of patients with the other members of the OR team, consisting of the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and surgical technician adhering to the Standards of Care of the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN), the regulatory requirements of The Joint Commission (TJC), the Department of Health Services (DHS), and Title 22 from the California Code of Regulations.
Surgical tech I for part time 3 days a week
Performs technical skills and provides assistance to surgeons, anesthesia personnel, registered nurses, and other professionals in the operating room. Performs similar duties in other areas of the hospital as assigned. Independently scrubs on all surgical procedures. Demonstrates ability to problem solve in relation to the procedure being performed. Applies basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology for optimum surgical patient care. Demonstrates knowledge and practice of patient care concepts. Applies the principles of asepsis during surgical procedures. Qualifications: Two years Surgical Tech experience preferred. Completion of approved Surgical Tech course requires. Current BLS certification required.

The Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Evening shift, performs laboratory procedure on specimens from inpatient and outpatients and assist the Coordinator in the daily operations of the Laboratory. Performs intrument responsibilities and all basic LIS functions. Assist in maintaining adequate supplies by communicating shortages and preparing reagents as needed. Acts under the direction of Lab Director, Coordinators and/ or Pathologists in other necesssary activities consistent with training, education, and professional ethics.

The Long Term Care Staff Development Educator is responsible for planning, conducting, and coordinating educational programs for the development and improvement of necessary skills and knowledge for all Long Term Care (LTC) personnel. The Staff Development Educator ensures orientation, certification, and inservice programs are conducted according to facility policy and procedure and in compliance with state and federal regulations. The Staff Development Educator will conduct inservices as mandated by state and federal regulations and that address the needs of the facility as determined by the facility's Quality Improvement Program, through completion of clinical rounds as identified by the Director of Long Term Care/designee, or as identified during a Licensing and Certification visit.
Regularly performs laboratory procedures in the assigned scientific sections of the Clinical Lab and/or Emergency Department. Performs necessary quality control procedures and maintains records. Troubleshoots instrument problems. Performs and records instrumentation. Performs other clinical and clerical duties as needed. Regularly utilizes the laboratory computer for various aspects of daily work. Verifies completion of work by various computer programs. Communicates with nursing and other hospital personnel, regarding laboratory procedures, results and overdue tests. Runs and completes all testing that is permitted under the licensure by the State of CA. Qualifications: CA licensed Medical Laboratory Technician and AA degree. Medical Laboratory Technician Internship preferred.
Prepares and serves meals for patients, employees, visitors. Responsible for meals in Catering Center as needed; overseeing kitchen operations.

The Staff Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients and their families in compliance with the standards for care at AHMC Seton Medical Center, American Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, and American Nurse Practice Act. Staff Nurse ll’s are capable of independently performing the full range of clinical nursing services involving patient care. May supervise the work of professional and paraprofessional staff of the assigned unit.
In collaboration with the Patient Experience staff, will perform purposeful daily rounding on patients and families in the facility to assess patient needs and collaborate with nursing and other staff to ensure that needs are met. - Performs admission and continued stay review utilizing criteria approved by the medical staff to ensure that patients meets Severity of illness/intensity of Service criteria.
- Confers with the attending/consulting physician(s) as appropriate when the medical necessity for admission or continued stay in not clear.
- Consults with the Physician Advisor when the admission or continued stay does not meet criteria, care is not being provided timely or does not meet the community standard of care.
- Provides clinical review information to external review entities or insurance companies to ensure authorization for admission and continued stay is obtained.
- Accurately completes the MediCal Treatment Authorization Request (TAR) in detail to ensure payment for hospital services.
- Refers medically complex patients under the age of 65 to the MediCal Case Management program.
- Facilitates transfer of patients to other acute care facilities as required either due to third party payer requirements or county indigent program.
- Identifies potentially avoidable days, delays in service, over utilization or quality of care issues and completes reports as required.
- Performs the Case Management Admission Assessment within two working days of admission.
- With the concurrence of the patient, family and physician develops a plan for post discharge care.
- Refers appropriate patients to Social Services for psychosocial intervention, Advance Directive or end of life education.
- Accurately documents the case management process in the medical record on the Discharge Planning Assessment form N-245.
- Identifies the responsibilities and involvement of the Inter-disciplinary team members in discharge planning activities on an ongoing basis.
- Participates in Interdisciplinary Care rounds/conferences to facilitate coordination of care, goal setting, and developing strategies to facilitate the discharge planning process.
- Communicates the final discharge date and plan with the patient and family to ensure that they are informed as required by law and documents such notification in the Plan section of the Discharge Planning Assessment form (N-245).
- Provides accurate information and completes referrals as appropriate to implement the discharge plan including but not limited to Home Health Services, Hospice, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Durable Medical Supplies, and other community resources.
- Maintain confidentiality as required by HIPPA and only provides information relating to payment, hospital operations or continuity of care.
- Provides “hand off” information to the receiving Case Manager to ensure a safe, smooth transition to other nursing units.
- Refers situations requiring immediate intervention to the Director of Case Management, Risk Management, Director of Quality Management and the Vice President of Medical Affairs.
- Participates in committee meetings, patient care conferences other activities as assigned.
- Participates in department Performance Improvement activities.

The position of Education Coordinator reports to the Chief Nursing Officer. The mission of education and training is to promote excellence through the continuing education and support of patient care and ancillary staff. Performs the essential functions of mission integration, team work, time management, communication, interpersonal relationships, organizational contribution, professional manner and appearance, professional practice and generic education planning and implementation in collaboration with the leadership team.
Position Summary
The Patient Account Specialist review and completes charity applications for state and local funding. Assist patients and physician’s office with billing questions in a cheerful approach. Review accounts and provide needed information as requested by the Central Business Office for proper reimbursement. Assist the Patient Access Director in the daily operations at the facility level. Approaches all other duties as assigned with a positive and team sprit. The position will also be expected to support all organizational expectations including, but not limited to Customer Service, Patient’s Rights, Confidentiality of Information, Environment of Care and AHMC initiatives.
