Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and implementing any functions, projects, or procedures associated with the LIS. Implements quality standards and provides oversight of section processes to achieve excellent outcome and quality patient care. As scheduled, performs Laboratory testing on patient and control samples, and/or prepares blood components for transfusion. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures. This knowledge includes the use of specialized analytical instrumentation, clinical correlation of test results, quality control requirements, and preventative maintenance. Maintains department readiness for regulatory
inspections and compliance requirements. Maintains department policy and procedure manuals in accordance with hospital policy. Participates in the continuous quality improvement process through professional development, continuing education, data collection and evaluation, and quality assurance. Develops and maintains orientation, training and competency tools and ensures compliance.
Participates in data collection and analysis as requested by management. Maximizes efficiency in section operations. Exhibits willingness to resolve problems as they arise.

The LIS Coordinator is responsible for the operation of the Laboratory computer Information System (LIS) and coordination of its operation with other hospital department systems. Essential tasks include maintaining the daily LIS operation; providing LIS technical support; troubleshooting LIS software and hardware problems (may require minor hardware repairs); maintain LIS records and reports; prepare and update LIS policies and procedures; and analyze: and interpret LIS data.
The Case Manager RN is responsible for ensuring effective and efficient utilization of hospital resources and assisting patients in receiving appropriate, high quality post hospital care and service. The major population serviced is adult and geriatric patients. Also responsible for providing patient and family with a safe, discharge plan and coordinating the patient’s needs at discharge.

The Labor, Delivery and OB-Acute Services Department Manager has responsibility for the administration, organization and professional management of the Labor, Delivery and OB-Acute. Specifically, the position is accountable for the ongoing evaluation of unit operations and quality outcomes; prepares and is accountable for the operational and capital budgets for all areas of responsibility; and ensures that all services meet the needs of physicians, patients, families, and ancillary departments and staff. This position serves as a liaison between Medical Staff and Administration and is accountable to the Country, State and Federal agencies as well as Joint Commission for maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and standards, and contributing quality patient outcomes while consistently maintaining the highest level of customer service.

The RN shall, for their patient, collaborate in the formulation of the overall plan of care for the patient, as evidenced by written documentation. Identifies problems specific to biophysical, cognitive, developmental, emotional, socio-cultural, and spiritual needs.
