Under the direction of the COO/CNO, provides daily and strategic administrative oversight and operational control to patient care units under his/her area of responsibility. This position requires providing Patient Care managerial/administrative supervision to departments which provide care/service across the continuum of care in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional and/or developmental age of the individual served.

The Long Term Care Staff Development Educator is responsible for planning, conducting, and coordinating educational programs for the development and improvement of necessary skills and knowledge for all Long Term Care (LTC) personnel.  The Staff Development Educator ensures orientation, certification, and inservice programs are conducted according to facility policy and procedure and in compliance with state and federal regulations.  The Staff Development Educator will conduct inservices as mandated by state and federal regulations and that address the needs of the facility as determined by the facility's Quality Improvement Program, through completion of clinical rounds as identified by the Director of Long Term Care/designee, or as identified during a Licensing and Certification visit.
