The Staff Physical Therapist provides Physical Therapy evaluations to patients under the referral of a physician. Plans and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of physical therapy. Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment team. Provides supervision and direction for the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) and Rehab Aide.
The Staff Physical Therapist reports to the Senior Physical Therapist and/or Physical Therapy Manager and/or Director of Rehabilitation. The Staff Physical Therapist supervises Physical Therapist Assistants, and Rehab Aides.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
MinimumBachelor of Science: Graduate of a School/Program in Physical Therapy approved by the APTA.
California licensure as a Physical Therapist by the Physical Therapy Board of California.
BCLS required (AHA).
Can work for both acute and rehab settings preferred
Willing to work weekends and Holidays

The Admitting Representative interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain identifying and verifying information, such as patient/s name, address, age, date of birth, social security number, occupation, insurance information and obtaining authorization. Also, have the capabilities of interfacing with the PBX operator and reception areas. Must be able to operate a computer to input and retrieve data. Ability to communicate with the population served, utilizing age specific techniques from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatrics. Maintain proficiency in medical terminology. Special projects or other assignments may be given with expectations to be completed in a specified timeframe.

The Rehab Aide I performs assigned non-patient care duties and patient care duties under the direct supervision of a registered therapist at all times. The Aide assists registered therapists in routine treatment of rehabilitation, acute or outpatients in assigned discipline(s). The Aide I works primarily in one discipline (e.g. OT or PT or TR) and/or area (e.g. Acute, Rehab, Outpatient). The Aide does not interpret orders, evaluate patients, or develop treatment programs. The Rehab Aide reports to the Staff and/or Senior Staff Occupational/ Physical or Recreational Therapist or Therapy Manager. The Rehab Aide I is not responsible for supervising other positions.

College level student or graduate with some experience in working with people ; or enrolled in a professional education program leading to a PT/ PTA/ OT/ OTA/SLP or other Allied Health professional school. Motivation to seek further education; good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills; demonstrated maturity and responsibility.

Under the direction of Nursing Office Personnel (Nursing Director/Manager, Assistant Director of Nursing, nursing support manager or staffing coordinator) responds to and facilitates transport of patients throughout the organization. The definition of transport is described as, but not limited to, movement of patients to and from diagnostic testing/procedures, transfer of patients between floors/unit of care, transportation of remains to the morgue, and transport of goods/medical equipment throughout the organization.
This position requires frequent walking and movement of patients/objects whose weight may be in excess of 25lbs. The position requires employment of sound body mechanics and the ability to safely transfer patients to and from medical equipment. During non-transport times patient care transporters may be called upon to perform additional duty requirements entailing clerical assistance to patient care floors as assigned. Clerical assistance is defined as charting of reports into appropriate medical records, general upkeep of the physical environment, answering phones, observing patients and assisting with transfer/ambulation of patients in a given patient care unit. Additional duties may be assigned based on competency validation such as, but not limited to, assembly/take-down of skeletal traction.

JOB SUMMARY: The Unit Secretary, reporting to the Nursing Unit Director, with assignment and direction from the Charge Nurse or Registered Nurse/LVN designee, is responsible for assisting in the planning, implementing and evaluating the activities occurring in the nursing station by performance of clerical/ receptionist &/or Cardiac Monitoring duties. This position is responsible for maintaining the physical environment of the nursing unit. The US supports the hospital mission and vision with emphasis on customer relations. The US utilizes knowledge of patient’s age, spiritual and cultural diversity into unit communication & organization. The US is a non-licensed position whose training & skills enables him/her to interpret basic cardiac rhythms, recognize & alert the RN to significant rhythm changes or common dysrhythmias.
