The Registered Nurse provides care, treatment, counseling and health education to the hospitalized patient. The RN is responsible for planning and coordination of care across the continuum. This planning and coordination includes meeting and exceeding compliance with core measures, contributes to reduction in LOS, active participation with all aspects of quality, safety and performance improvement activities, collaboration with all the members of the multidisciplinary team in providing outstanding customer service to patients, family members, physicians and the public. Meets and exceeds the Department of Health Service (DHS), The Joint Commission (TJC) and other regulatory requirements.

The Staff Speech Pathologist organizes and coordinates speech pathology treatment programs. He/she participates in direct patient evaluation and treatment to facilitate and/or restore speech, language, cognitive and swallowing functions and collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment team.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology.
- Valid California Speech Pathology License (or eligible).
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), or eligible.
- Current BLS, American Heart Association
Preferred if possible:
FEES Certification
Experience with Modified Barium Swallow
Evaluation and treatment plan for all speech and swallow patients in the acute, rehab and Outpatient settings. May include Modified Barium Swallow evaluations, cognitve training, swallow training

The Charge Nurse is responsible and accountable for the quality of staff and functions during their shift. Directly supervises and communications with all staff along with the Director of the department. Assists the Department Director in the daily operation of the unit, directing, supervising and evaluating personnel, ensuring the proper use of time, equipment and staff. Ensure the efficient functions of the department. Performs direct patient care, only as needed, within the scope of practice. Continually assess care and direct staff to make immediate changes in the plan of care.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BCLS, ACLS, NRP (AHA) Fetal Monitoring,NIHS Stroke Cert, upon hire and maintain current
- Birth/Beyond within 6 months of hire.
- Previous supervisory experience, preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. .
- Basic Dysrhythmia preferred.
