The Pharmacy Tech provides medications, sterile and non-sterile products to inpatients and some outpatients under supervision of pharmacists.
Under the direction of the Rehab Director, the SLP evaluates plans, identifies, assesses, interprets, diagnoses, and administers medically prescribed speech therapy treatment to patients. Selects and executes procedures for screening and assessment of speech, language, oral pharyngeal function, swallowing, and cognitive-communication disorders; formulates, carries out, and documents plan of care throughout the continuum of care in the inpatient and outpatient setting; and encompasses pediatric through geriatric populations. The SLP educates patients, family/caregivers and staff regarding impairments of speech, language, swallowing, and cognition disorders.
Manages individualized, goal directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and Hospital policies and procedures. The Registered Nurse will provide care that includes timely triage, physical assessment, treatment, reassessment, discharge planning, and health education to the hospitalized patient. The RN is responsible for planning and coordination of care across the continuum. This planning and coordination includes meeting and exceeding compliance with core measures, contributes to reduction in LOS, active participation with all aspects of quality, safety and performance improvement activities, collaboration with all the members of the multidisciplinary team in providing outstanding customer service to patients, family members, physicians and the public. Meets and exceeds the Department of Health Service (DHS), The Joint Commission (TJC) and other regulatory requirements. The Registered Nurse will support the department initiative and provide quality patient care.
JOB SUMMARY: The Admitting Representative interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain identifying and verifying information, such as patient/s name, address, age, date of birth, social security number, occupation, insurance information and obtaining authorization. Also, have the capabilities of interfacing with the PBX operator and reception areas. Must be able to operate a computer to input and retrieve data. Ability to communicate with the population served, utilizing age specific techniques from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatrics. Maintain proficiency in medical terminology. Special projects or other assignments may be given with expectations to be completed in a specified timeframe.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred..
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred.
- Required upon 90 days hire; BCLS (AHA), AB508
Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist this position will perform preparation packaging distribution, billing and inventory management of medication.
Responsible for
- Compounding IVs, checking IVs, and supervise IV compounding.
- Clinical activities such as antibiotic dosing, anticoagulation monitor, TPN dosing, renal dosing, IV to PO conversion, and reviewing patients’ medication profile.
- Verifying physician’s medication order and communicating with medical staff to achieve optimal medication therapy.
- filling and dispensing of medication orders including the proper handling, usage, and storage of drugs in the pharmacy.
- Maintains standards set by the department and translates policies and procedures into the daily operation of the pharmacy.
- Being an information resource to patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy and drug‑related information and literature
- Oversees activities of technicians and intern pharmacists in procurement, preparation and distribution of medication.
- Participating in team discussion to improve workflow and staff interaction.
- Attending codes.
