JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for designing, organizing, coordinating and implementing the Risk Management Program with the objective of controlling and minimizing loss to protect the human, physical and fiscal assets of the organization. Is an active participant in performance improvement data collection, activities, and functions to promote an integrated program, which ensures the provision of the highest quality of health care. Collaborates with personnel responsible for safety and security and actively participates in risk-related activities in this area.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or healthcare related field preferred
- Fellow or Diplomat of American Society of Healthcare risk Managers Associate in Risk Management (ARM) preferred
- Five years clinical and/or management experience in a multidisciplinary health care setting which includes a minimum of two years of inpatient experience
- Experience in risk management and/or professional liability claims management preferred
- Should be know legible about current State Laws and Regulations as applicable to facility
The position of Speech Therapy Manager is responsible for planning, directing, implementing, coordinating, mentoring and improving the activities of all Speech Service line. This includes staffing and program development in Acute Care, Acute Rehabilitation, and Outpatient Services, at both Garfield Medical Center and Monterey Park Hospital. The position reports to the Director of Rehabilitation Services at each Garfield Medical Center.
Speech Manager is responsible for planning, directing, implementing, coordinating, mentoring and improving the activities of all Speech service line. This includes staffing and program development in Acute Care, Acute Rehabilitation, and Outpatient Services, at both Garfield Medical Center and Monterey Park Hospital. Involved in direct patient care mininum of 50%.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Entry level degree and appropriate licensure in Allied Health Profession required (Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology).
- Minimum five years patient care experience to include acute care, outpatient and inpatient rehab.
- Supervisory experience, teaching, training and mentoring experience preferred.
- Current BLS.

The Physical Therapist provides direct patient care including evaluation, program planning, treatments , documentation, and patient/family education, upon referral by a physician. Plans and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients accroding to the principles and practices of physical therapy. Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment team. Provides supervision and director for the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) and Rehab Aide.The Staff Physical Therapist reports to the Senior Physical Therapist and/or, OP Rehab Coordinator, PT Manager, Director of Rehabilitation.

- Bachelor of Science. Graduate of a School/Program in Physical Therapy approved by the APTA.
- California licensure as a Physical Therapist by the Physical Therapy Board of California.
