This person will also function as the Cardiopulmonary Director in his/her absence, overseeing general operations of the cardiopulmonary service departments. Works collaboratively with all members of the management team and Medical Staff towards achievement of the Medical Center’s goals and objectives. Provides on-going leadership in the areas of financial accountability, personal development, and quality care/service for assigned areas and functions. - Responsible for upholding AHMC visions, values and guiding principles: Responsible for maintaining positive morale and employee satisfaction in areas supervised. Promotes collaboration and multi-disciplinary approach to patient care. Communicates in a positive and effective manner with customers and staff. Ensures staff and department participation and collaboration in system, hospital and department-specific initiatives. - Collaborates with Cardiopulmonary Director and Medical Director to develop and/or implement system, hospital and/or departmental policies, procedures and protocols. - Collaborates with Materials Management and Nursing to ensure adequate stock par levels, storage and utilization of respiratory therapy equipment and supplies in the hospital. - Conducts monthly department meetings and maintains meeting minutes. - Responsible for managing and maintaining departmental timekeeping and records. - Responsible for hiring and selection of personnel, performance appraisals, counseling and termination of employment. - Responsible for assuring routine evaluation of equipment and scheduling of repair and maintenance as required. - Responsible for coordinating installation and/or training of new equipment in collaboration with RT, Cardiopulmonary director and end users. - Responsible for technical knowledge and use of equipment. Must maintain clinical proficiency in the field of respiratory therapy.  Provides direct patient care as respiratory therapist when needed in accordance with the hospital job description as well as state, local and federal standards of a respiratory care practitioner. - Functions as Cardiopulmonary Director in his/her absence. - Responsible for additional tasks related to management as needed and as assigned by Cardiopulmonary Director and/or Medical Director.
