Performs technical skills and provides assistance to surgeons, anesthesia personnel, registered nurses, and other professionals in the operating room. Performs similar duties in other areas of the hospital as assigned. Independently scrubs on all surgical procedures. Demonstrates ability to problem solve in relation to the procedure being performed. Applies basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology for optimum surgical patient care. Demonstrates knowledge and practice of patient care concepts. Applies the principles of asepsis during surgical procedures.

Is responsible for the overall work flow and service for Sterile Processing. The Director of Case Management is responsible for the overall operations of Pre-Admissions, Case Management, Discharge Planning and Social Services at AHMC-ARMC. This position is a liaison between medical staff and administration and is responsible for monitoring utilization processes, LOS, patient mix and outlier trends. It also facilitates information sharing and problem resolution by maintaining cooperative relationships. The position is accountable to County, State and Federal agencies as well as Joint Commission for maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and standards and for contributing to quality patient outcomes.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the supervisor, collects all birth certificate information from parents, completes and registers all live births in accordance to rules and regulations set by the County of Los Angeles Health Department.
The Health Information Clerk II assists physicians and other medical personnel in achieving timely, accurate, and complete documentation practices. Clerk II analyzes the assembled record for chart completion deficiencies, in accordance with regulatory requirements and Medical Staff Rules and Regulations. Clerk II assigns deficiencies to the appropriate medical staff member, and data is entered for tracking and monitoring purposes. Medical Staff members are notified, and held accountable for these chart completion items. The Clerk II will assist the medical staff member in their chart completion effort, but will carry out the suspension process if the medical staff member does not complete their records in a timely manner. Once the medical staff member addresses their documentation deficiencies or upon addition of a document to the analyzed record, the Clerk II will review this documentation and update or clear the deficiencies as appropriate. The Clerk II is also responsible for answering telephone calls and assisting visitors (including but not limited to physicians, patients, and their family members), while maintaining confidentiality. The Clerk II will further support the department needs through assistance in any of the Clerk I, Release of Information, or other duties as assigned. .
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
Minimum one year health information management experience in acute care setting; required.
- Knowledge of State and Federal regulatory requirements for medical staff documentation; preferred.
- Computer data entry with 10-key, with accurate typing speed of 35 wpm; preferred.
- Experience with electronic medical records
5..High School Diploma or equivalent and BCLS Card AHA.
- Completion of a medical terminology course; preferred.
7. Background in business and office training; preferred

The Project Coordinator in the Administration department is responsible for managing resources and controlling mid to large scale medical equipment and estate related projects. He or she should ensure that the medical equipment project is carried without any constraints in a planned timely manner meeting all objectives. A project coordinator leads activities related to product and/or equipment selection and standardization as per clinical requirement and quality of patient care. He/she also provides direct/indirect support for the Director of Engineering/ Biomedical/Technology departments and higher level administration for capital planning and various clinical projects.
Preventive and Corrective maintenance of equipment to meet the TJC, CMS and CAP regulations is a crucial part of the job description. The preventive maintenance all medical equipment under the Equipment management program should be carried as per manufacturer recommendations protocol and frequency. For these reasons, he/she should have the technical knowledge to use the test equipment and perform the required preventive maintenance in a timely manner.
Along with the above responsibilities, he/she is also responsible as a role of service engineer to take care of the service requests requested by the clinical/non-clinical staff of the hospital. He/she should handle variety of tasks associated with relocation, installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of complex biomedical equipment. They should be able to perform duties of a board scope and complexity to analyze, develop, design, modify, plan, install, evaluate, certify, and correct systems malfunctions on complex medical systems that have virtually interrelated, and sometimes dispersed subsystems.
Project coordinator is the front line employee who is visible to the clinician utilizing the patient care equipment included in the Equipment maintenance program. Pride and professionalism, as well as technical expertise, must be exhibited at all times for the success of all concerned.
