Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care based on established clinical nursing care for patients the medical surgical services based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Serves as the Resource nurse role when oriented and as directed. Supports the organization vision and mission. Utilizes knowledge of patient's age, developmental status, spiritual and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing certificate. Licensure in the state of California as a Registered Nurse (RN). Proficient in oral and written communication skills. Ability to practice leadership, interpersonal skills, communication skills, teamwork, quality improvement and professionalism.
Current California RN license
BCLS, ACLS, Basic Dysrhythmia certificate upon hire.
Proficiency in both written and oral English
1 Year acute experience.
Under the direction of the Department Director, Radiology coordinator is responsible for all areas of assigned departments. Duties include technical support, scheduling of technologists, orientation of new staff, establish education programs for the technologists, protocol building and maintenance, evaluation of Quality Control, coordinating and providing technical training improving patient experience, improving turnaround time(TAT), improving efficiency, and adherence to policies and procedures. Maintenance of policies and procedures, and personnel functions such as interviewing, evaluations, competency, counseling, and disciplinary actions. In addition, may assume responsibility for the Radiology department in the absence of the Director.
- Coordinates the daily work schedule for technologists and support staff.
- Coordinates inter-departmental functions to provide quality and continuity of patient care.
- Communicates with radiology staff, nursing staff, and physicians concerning any deviations regarding testing and reporting of results.
- Takes sick calls and assists in replacement of staff when necessary.
- Performs personnel functions including interviewing, counseling, evaluations, and disciplinary actions for assigned departments.
- Assists Director with budgetary and FTE management issues of the department.
- Attends required meetings as instructed by the Director.
- Adds support to other Staff as needed.
- Provides technical support as needed.
- Ensures image quality through daily QA and QC.
- Troubleshoots daily operational issues.
- Reports equipment problems and insures proper notification of service for repair and maintenance.
- Coordinates and provides technical training and orientation for Ultrasound Technologists as needed.
- Coordinates and assures compliance with competency testing as related to department responsibilities.
- Updates knowledge through continuing education.
- Participates in age specific educational and training programs.
- Maintains and utilizes knowledge of radiation safety standards (as required).
- Prepares diagnostic procedures for the Radiologists and assists as appropriately indicated within the scope of practice of licensure.
- Prepares images for interpretation by the Radiologists.
- Correlates diagnostic exams with other procedures.
- Requests and orders supplies as necessary.
- Knowledge of general X-RAY, CT, and MRI practices and procedures.
- Working knowledge of XRAY, CT, MRI terminology.
- Knowledge of principles and techniques of computers and computerized data storage.
- Knowledge of departmental and hospital policies and procedures that support the provision of service.
- Knowledge regarding special needs and behaviors of age-specific groups and proficiency in required area.
