Monterey Park Hospital is recruiting for an Ultrasound Tech for our Ultrasound Department. This position is a Per Diem with Variable shifts for weekend coverage. This position reports to the Supervisor of Imaging and Director of Imaging Services.
Under direct supervision, the OR Tech supports the department of Surgical Services in the provision of patient care by the coordination of surgical instrumentation and performance of scrub technologist activities. Responsibilities include providing organizational, communication and assistive skills necessary to facilitate the flow of surgical services activities, ensuring availability and proper maintenance of instrumentation and surgical supplies, adhering to principles of asepsis and policies and procedures, demonstrating knowledge of surgical procedures and providing support to patients, visitors, physicians, staff and ancillary personnel.

JOB SUMMARY: The Infection Preventionist is responsible for coordinating the activities of the facility’s infection prevention and control program by assuming direct responsibility for infection surveillance, infection reporting, and provision of infection prevention and control technical support and education for the facility staff.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- RN license from an accredited professional nursing program required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Continuing education in infection prevention and control related topics required.
- A minimum of three- (3) years of experience as a nurse in an acute care health-care facility preferred.
- CIC preferred or within one year of hire.
- Currently licensed to practice by the CA State Board of Nursing. Must have a valid driver's license.
- Thorough knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, and state/federal regulatory requirements. APIC certification preferred at the time of hiring or obtains within first year of employment.
- Active member of local APIC chapter required. Documentation of ongoing CEUs or other infection prevention and control related training required.
- Current (BCLS).American Heart Association, NIHS Stroke certification and maintain.
JOB SUMMARY Laboratory Assistants/Phlebotomist are non-professional personnel with training in areas of the clinical laboratory useful to the overall efficiency and smooth operation of the laboratory. These areas include: phlebotomy, preparation of send out tests, answering the telephone, and assisting in the chemistry, hematology, and microbiology areas of the laboratory. The purpose of the job description is to provide information on how this useful assistance can be given. In order to qualify for this position, one must be able to work independently all the requirements as described for a Laboratory Assistant. This person should be versatile in all aspect of the laboratory as well as a team player to assist in not only performing, but coordinating the duties and responsibilities of the Laboratory Assistant in order to relieve the Clinical Laboratory Scientist the responsibilities of the phlebotomy and processing area, which includes the send out and microbiology set-ups. This person must have an extensive computer and LIS capability to manage and troubleshoot any problems in the processing area as well as the billing aspect. This person needs to be able to demonstrate proficiency in assisting and gaining the confidence of the Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform the designated automated instruments.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- High school education or its equivalent experience (An AA or Bachelor's degree is preferred.)
- Two years of experience as a phlebotomist.
- Certified for venipuncture and skin puncture CPT.
- Be able to communicate well in English both in writing and verbally.
- Minimum of four years of experience in a clinical laboratory with at least two years of experience as a Laboratory Technician a lead laboratory assistant, and or a Lab Assistant Supervisor, or show equivalent experience.
- Have at least two years of LIS experience and computer knowledge, or show proficiency.
- Have good organizational skills.
- Have some experience with the operation of any automated chemistry, hematology, or microbiology experience
- Work well under supervision and in times of stress.
- BCLS Card (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain..
The role of the Physician Assistant in Cardiovascular Surgical Services (PA) requires the performance of a combination of surgical functions. The PA renders direct patient care as part of the perioperative role by assisting the surgeon in the surgical treatment of the patient. The responsibility of functioning as PA must be based on documented knowledge and skills acquired after specialized preparation and formal instruction. The PA practices advanced surgical assisting skills such as providing exposure, tissue handling, endoscopic vein harvesting, suturing, providing hemostasis, and using surgical instruments. The PA is involved in all aspects of pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative patient care within the scope of the privileges approved by the Medical Center and within the scope of practice as stated by Title XXII of the State of California. The PA participates in the daily activities of the department as an active team member and assists in any other capacity according to established procedures.

The function of the Technical Specialist is to research, evaluate, and recommend the proper use of current information technology including, but not limited to, complex arrays of hardware, operating systems, applications software, desktop management and other applications that form the foundation of systems and toolsets used by both users and IT staff at SGVMC. Stays abreast of information technology developments, provides opinions on emerging technologies, and aids in adopting technology and incorporating it into existing systems and procedures.

Assists the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care to patients. Complies with applicable laws and regulations.
