Under general supervision, the position is responsible for registering Inpatients, Outpatients, and Ancillary patients, compiling complete and accurate information for hospital records and timely reimbursement. Maintains effective patient flow and completes the admitting process in a timely manner to assist in prompt treatment of the patient. Supports the department of Surgical Services Scheduling in the coordination of the scheduling activities. Additional responsibilities include the provision of organizational, and communication skills necessary to facilitate the flow of scheduling activities. This position is responsible for assisting the RN in the provision of patient care in the Outpatient Services Unit. Under direct supervision, the OR Tech supports the department of Surgical Services in the provision of patient care by the coordination of surgical instrumentation and performance of scrub technologist activities. The Clinical Wound Care Specialist will be responsible for the effective management of wound care needs of the patient. The Wound Care Specialist should be proactive in pressure ulcer prevention and knowledgeable of current trends.
This position is responsible for the decontamination preparation and sterilization of instruments for all areas of the hospital.
· Decontaminates, cleans assembles and sterilizes simple to moderately complex instrument trays.
· Operates all equipment in the processing area, including steam sterilizer, tunnel washer and heat sealer in a safe manner.
· Prepares trays, packs, linen, instruments and other special items for steam sterilization.
· Assists in the maintenance of departmental records.
· Maintains accurate sterilization and biological indicator records.
· Keeps accurate control records of equipment and instruments issued to all patient care areas and of their return.
· Demonstrates skill in inspecting, assembling and wrapping instrument trays. Checks for contamination, tears, holes and moisture in wrapped trays.
· After each load, checks the sterilizer recording charts for proper function of sterilizer temperatures, pressure and time cycles. Initials each load run. Reports any
malfunction to the coordinator.
· Receives shift report daily.
· Attends meetings as required and actively participates in assignments in an effective manner.
· Demonstrates ability to organize time, prioritize activities and solve problems.
· Maintains cart and stock areas in a clean and orderly fashion.
· Maintains security of supplies by ensuring doors are locked and closed at all times and reporting any unauthorized personnel to security.
The Nursing Assistant assists in patient care throughout nursing areas, and is responsible for the safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services. Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation in order to maximize his/her safety. Performs general receptionist and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
To provide respiratory therapy for neonates who are in need of such in order that their breathing may be brought to a level which may provide sufficient oxygenation and enable the neonate to breathe without the aid of therapy or ventilator support. The neonatal respiratory care practitioner is expected to be able to use sound professional judgment in relaying patient status and needs to the medical staff and the ability to follow through with physician's orders. In addition, the NICU respiratory care practitioner II & III is expected to be able to intubate when the necessity arises.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of a 2 year AMA approved Respiratory Care Program with a minimum of 6 months care experience and with a state license. A certified neonatal respiratory care practitioner with previous experience, current BCLS and NRP certificate.

- Graduate of a 1 year AMA approved Respiratory Care Program with 1 year critical care experience and with a state license. Certification in neonatal respiratory care with previous experience.
