Assesses patient/family health problems and resources, takes a leadership role in the development, implementation and outcomes evaluation of a plan for nursing care provided by the nursing team. Provides technical nursing care and interventions to designated patient populations.
This position requires providing service to a one or more age populations including an ill neonate through geriatric patient population in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served. The CLS assists in the operation of the hospital clinical laboratory by overseeing and performing routine and STAT tests in the lab Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, Microbiology departments. CLS assumes responsibility for the accuracy of results and the appropriate documentation of patient, quality control, and maintenance data. The CLS consults with nursing and medical staff as needed. Monitors section functions and assists in the development and revision of policies and procedures.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or the equivalent preferred.
- A valid and current Clinical Laboratory Technologist license. Issued by the State of California Department of Health Services.
- BCLS card (AHA) within 90 days hire.
- Be able to converse well in English because of physician, nurse, and patient contact.
- Have good manual dexterity.
- Work well under supervision and in times of stress.

The PACU Nurse performs pre and post operative procedures. He/she is responsible to the Nurse Manager of PACU, and works closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists and other members of the operative team. BCLS, ACLS (AHA) and maintain current.
Preferred Chemotherapy
Proficiency in both written and oral English
Basic Dysrhythmia certificate preferred
1 Year acute experience preferred, NIHSS certification preferred.
