The Staff Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients and their families in compliance with the standards for care at Seton Medical Center, AHMC and Nurse Practice Act.

The position will work in collaboration with the medical director of cardiothoracic surgery and the structural heart  program director. This position plays a key role in the comprehensive management of patients with complex cardiac and pulmonary conditions, including those undergoing transcatheter and surgical interventions.

This position is responsible for providing patient care in a safe and effective manner.  Responsibilities include directing PCA activity, synthesizing patient information, assessment of patients, planning of care/intervention, teaching of patients/family, implementation of treatment plan, MD orders, documentation and evaluation.  Integration of patient care standards are incorporated into all clinical activities.   -

Performs complex maintenance and repair services of the hospital’s physical plant; equipment, buildings and properties.  Duties may include one or more of the following areas:  mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or HVAC.  Operates and maintains stationary gas and oil fired boilers and auxiliaries in supplying hot water and steam for other power generating purposes.

This position is responsible for assisting the RN in the provision of patient care in the Outpatient Services Unit. Participates in quality patient care delivery, efficient patient flow and effective communication with health care team. Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, supervisor, and/or director of pharmacy services, performs a variety of technical and clerical duties for the hospital-wide unit dose drug distribution system and intravenous admixture program.
