JOB SUMMARY: Performs reimbursement analysis for all payers and/or Managed Care profitability analysis.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):   1.     Extensive knowledge and understanding of Managed Care payer contracts, Medicare and Medi-cal billing and reimbursement guidelines and Workers Compensation reimbursement. 2.     Experience and extensive knowledge of acute care hospital billing. 3.     Perform expected reimbursement analysis for all upcoming elective surgery. Maintain spreadsheet log and report. 4.     Review and resolve disallowed charges or payment discrepancy issues sent by billing department. 5.     Assist the denial team in reviewing payment denial and/or underpayments. Perform and identify payer trending denial reasons.   6.     Provides a weekly and/or monthly report for any reimbursement related reports. 7.     Communicate effectively and provide support to all members of the organization. 8.     Provides responsive service to internal and external customers.   QUALIFICATIONS:  The incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
