JOB SUMMARY: The Critical care Technician under the direct supervision of a registered nurse participates in the delivery of patient care within the critical care environment. This position includes, but is not limited to following the essential functions. The unit secretary / monitor technician through communication, requisitioning and management of supplies and equipment, coordinates the activities of the nursing staff, the patient, the physician, other hospital departments and visitors. He/she performs general receptionist and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit. Is skilled in reading and interpreting cardiac monitors and arrhythmias.
