The Intern Pharmacist, under the direct supervision of the pharmacist, participates in the processing of patient medication orders to facilitate the prompt and accurate delivery of medications to patients. The Intern Pharmacist has primary responsibility in drug distribution, maintaining appropriate patient records and charges, purchasing, and inventory control.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Currently enrolled in or graduated from an accredited School of Current State of California Intern Pharmacist License.
- One year of acute care hospital experience (preferred)
- Current BCLS Card (AHA) and maintain current.
Facilitates, in collaboration with the Director of Quality &Risk Management accurate, timely and consistent clinical data to public reporting databases and agencies, including The Joint Commission (Oryx}, and CMS. Reviewing paper and electronic medical records, interpreting, analyzing medical record documentation, and extrapolating pertinent health information needed for determining clinical quality and core measures required by The Joint Commission, CMS and other clinical reporting programs. Accurately entering the data directly into our electronic data collection database. Researching all available resources on missing, conflicting or ambiguous information in the medical record. Applying skilled judgment in determining that deviations from these guidelines may indicate an omission or inaccuracy within the patient's medical record.

Provides continuity of care by communicating the plan of care and diagnostic data, in accordance with the unit's guidelines. Involves family members and other health care team members in the development of the plan of care as appropriate. Sets priorities and gives nursing care based on the patient's needs. Qualifications: Current CA RN License, BLS, ACLS, PALS and proficiency in both written and oral English. One year acute care expense preferred. Graduate of approved nursing program preferred.
